Principal Engineer with over 13 years of experience shaping technical direction and building cloud-native platforms at enterprise scale. Specializes in Azure, Kubernetes, DevOps, microservices, CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code, and AI-assisted development. Known for advancing engineering maturity by introducing scalable platform standards and improving how teams deliver secure, reliable systems. Leads through influence by establishing clear architectural guidance and helping cross-functional teams navigate complex, ambiguous challenges.
Outside of work, I enjoy rock climbing, snowboarding, 3D printing, and building with LEGO, pursuits that reinforce my passion for problem-solving, experimentation, and systems thinking.
In this role, I provided architectural leadership and coordinated execution across an organization of more than 30 engineers, guiding delivery of large-scale initiatives including real-time event processing, reliability improvements, shared component platforms, and a full application platform redesign. I set enterprise technical direction by establishing operating models and standards for modern development practices, including organization-wide adoption of AI-assisted development and Infrastructure as Code. I led the design of a voice-based AI platform integrated with telephony systems that automated customer support workflows and reduced service demand by 30 percent. I also raised the platform's performance, reliability, and security baseline by defining clear targets, modernizing architecture, standardizing CI/CD and Agile delivery practices, and introducing security tooling and response workflows. Together, these efforts improved scalability, reduced operational risk, increased developer productivity, and enabled teams to deliver software more predictably at enterprise scale.
In this chapter of my career, my work shifted toward organization-scale technical leadership while remaining deeply hands-on. I focused on building durable platforms and standards that reduced cost, improved reliability, and raised the overall security and operability of critical systems. I led cloud infrastructure optimization for a social determinants of health platform, cutting operational costs by more than half while preserving high availability and performance. I defined and delivered enterprise capabilities such as large-scale secrets scanning across more than 150,000 repositories, a self-service eventing platform that improved system visibility and operational responsiveness, and a modernization of core provisioning tooling from a monolithic design to a modular, scalable architecture. I also established Infrastructure as Code and reusable Terraform modules as provisioning standards, improving consistency and reliability across production environments.
Earlier roles laid the foundation for this leadership by focusing on platform enablement and developer productivity. I designed CI/CD systems that supported daily deployments, built shared tooling and analytics frameworks that enabled cross-team collaboration, and delivered reusable libraries for diagnostics, logging, and security that standardized best practices across provider-facing teams. I also architected scalable routing, gateway, and observability solutions for high-traffic microservices and mentored emerging teams as they adopted modern cloud-native patterns. Together, these experiences shaped my approach to leadership: solving problems at the system level, enabling teams through platforms and standards, and creating leverage that scales across an organization.
